The Spinal Injuries Association (SIA) is the leading national user-led charity for spinal cord injured (SCI) people. Being a user-led, we are well placed to understand the everyday needs of living with spinal cord injury and are here to meet those needs by providing key services to share information and experiences, and to campaign for change ensuring each person can lead a full and active life. We are here to support you from the moment your spinal cord injury happens and for the rest of your life.

What is Spinal Cord (SCI)?

The spinal cord is an extension of the brain and is made up of a thick bundle of nerves. The nerves carry messages from our brain to the rest of our body. These messages help us to move our body, feel pressure and control vital functions like breathing, blood pressure, bladder and bowels. When the spinal cord is damaged, the communication between our brain and the rest of our body is disrupted, resulting in a loss of movement and sensation from below the level of injury. Damage to the spinal cord can be caused by a trauma like an accident, or as a result of infection or disease.

Team Players

Vanquish Tech’s charity partnership is part of the company’s commitment to making a positive contribution to society and the communities we operate in. We will work with SIA to raise both vital funds and awareness for SIA from 2019 and onwards. Our commitment to SIA is to provide technology support to the charity and their members in the form of advice, hardware and software procurement.

As the Official Technology Partner of West Ham United FC Men and Women, and with our close connection to the sporting world, we have invited the Spinal Injuries Association to be part of our ongoing activities and projects with the two clubs. It’s important for both Vanquish Tech and West Ham United FC to help the technically vulnerable by creating awareness, installing devices at the stadiums and help to fundraise.

“Having worked with many charity partners over the years, I can honestly say that there are not many that have shown as much passion, dedication or eagerness as Vanquish Technologies have so far, and it is fantastic to know how keen they are to support SIA – simply because they want to do everything they can to help us make a difference!“

“Our mission and commitment to SIA is both across raising vital funds that will contribute towards the amazing work the entire team provides to their Spinal cord members and as a technology company, ways we can introduce and enable new and existing technologies to SCI people that will impact their day to day life, to make it that much easier, even if only a little.“
